Our Story

A Handcrafted Gaatha began with a simple love for making things by hand — and a phase of life when I needed that love more than I knew.

Crochet started as a hobby for me, but during a difficult period of dealing with anemia and PCOD, it became something more. It gave me a reason to slow down, sit with my thoughts, create something with my hands, and find a little sense of calm and purpose, one stitch at a time.

I kept making. And slowly, those little handmade creations began finding their way into the hands of other people — becoming gifts, accessories, keepsakes and tiny pieces of joy.

That's when the idea behind A Handcrafted Gaatha began to take shape.

Gaatha means a story. And to us, every handmade piece is exactly that — a story of time, patience, creativity and the hands that brought it to life.

But as AHG grew and evolved, the story became bigger than just mine.

Today, AHG is also a space for women artisans who, in their own ways, are navigating the realities of life — whether that means health challenges, responsibilities at home, personal circumstances, financial limitations, or simply needing work that allows them to create and earn with greater flexibility.

We believe that talent shouldn't have to take a backseat to life.

So we create opportunities where women can make, contribute, earn and grow at their own pace, while continuing to honour the craft that makes our pieces special.

Our Purpose

At A Handcrafted Gaatha, we want to celebrate the beauty of things made slowly in a world that moves incredibly fast.

We want to keep handmade craft alive, create meaningful opportunities for women, and make little things that bring a little more joy into everyday life.

Because behind every stitch is time.
Behind every piece is a pair of hands.
And behind every Gaatha is a story worth keeping.

Collect stories, not just things. ♡
